Autumn is such a wonderful time to visit
Jacksonville, Oregon and if a trip is in your plans, be sure
to include attending our very popular Meet the Pioneers Program
in October. This will be our eighth Annual production of this
award-winning event that has been playing to sell-out audiences
since it all began in 2006. Visitors from all over Oregon,
Washington, and California have attended these special performances,
many year after year. Guests, after being entertained in the
ticket and waiting area, begin their special guided one hour
tour. Pioneer Spirits in period costumes await tour groups
as they are lead through the torch-lit Jacksonville Cemetery.
Spirits share their interesting and fascinating stories with
visitors. Some are funny, some sad, but you'll find them all
entertaining and great fun. Learn about travel west, life
in early Jacksonville and the Rogue Valley, and the important
topics and events of the day, during the mid to late 1800's.
Come and meet these early residents up close and personal.
We promise you won't be bored! We offer
new and different stories each year.
We are quite proud that our 2008 production was recognized as Oregon's Best Heritage Event by the Oregon Festivals & Events Association and we were presented with their Ovation Award.
